One of the most effective ways to enhance governance is through board diversity. This workshop aims to help board members integrate the ideas and practice of diversity and inclusion into their oversight responsibilities within their organization. The session also identifies inclusive leadership traits board members can model in all of their daily interactions and behaviours, both inside and outside of the boardroom. Participants will also explore how to mitigate individual or organisational biases that can interfere with reaching diversity and inclusion goals.
Participants will:
- Understand the role they play in influencing diversity and inclusion
- Recognise how biases show up in the boardroom, both in themselves and in others and how to avoid them
- Increase their capacity to practice inclusivity in areas with diversity and inclusion implications such as governance, strategy, succession planning, performance and talent
- Advocate for an inclusive organisational culture and hold management accountable in promoting a pipeline of inclusive leaders
